Product Description:

A biogas plant is an anaerobic digester that takes in organic farm waste or energy crops. This is contained in an air-tight tank of different configurations, and the input can be anything from maize silage to biodegradable waste, such as sewage sludge or food waste.

The microorganisms inside the tank transform this biomass waste into biogas, mainly methane and carbon dioxide, as well as digestate - a solid slurry which contains the remains of the organic matter. Experiments have found that if a wastewater from a brewery is mixed with cow whey at a 90/10 ratio, the production of biogas is 2.5 times higher than biogas only made from the wastewater.

Although a biogas plant can be advantageous, planting maize solely for biogas has proved somewhat unsustainable. This is because the concentrated and intense nature of these plantations can lead to soil erosion.

Anaerobic Digestion (AD) is an important factor in turning wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) into water resource recovery facilities (WRRFs). The by-product, usually referred to as “waste gas”, can be used as “biogas” — a renewable, clean and eco-friendly energy source. Some WRRFs have the capacity to generate enough energy to put renewable natural gas (RNG) into a pipeline, and/or to send power back to the grid. Despite the progress made in some fields, the design of anaerobic digestion systems for wastewater treatment plants has stayed more or less the same since the early 1900s. It doesn't take specialist equipment to start the AD process; all one needs is a tank and some primary and secondary sludge. The incoming microorganisms require an oxygen-deprived, homogenous and warm environment, and approximately 15-20 days in order to break down the solids and generate biogas. For the process to take place, the tank needs to be covered, mixed, and heated. The choice of the most suitable digester cover, mixer, and heating system is fundamental to ensure efficient functioning, minimize the chances of inefficiencies, process challenges, and catastrophic failures.

Packing and Shipping:

The Anaerobic Reactor will be packaged and shipped using the following methods:

• The package will be placed into a cardboard box and sealed securely with packing tape.
• The box will then be placed into a bubble wrap bag for extra protection.
• The box will then be placed in an outer shipping box.
• The outer shipping box will be secured with packing tape and labeled with the customer’s address.
• The package will then be shipped via the customer’s preferred shipping carrier.
